Practice Areas
Principle
Breast Self Exam makes you aware of your breast and primes you to detect even the smallest change.
Technique
Examine the breast in front of the mirror and while lying down. Look out for skin changes and lumps.
Follow up
Any abnormal and new change needs immediate evaluation by your doctor for clinical examination.
Timing
Exam needs to be done when breast is non tender and best time would be 3-4 days after the last cycle.
Findings
Lumpiness, change in texture, or frank lumps are noted and marked based on location in the breast.
Outcome
Early recognition of changes results in early detection of cancer and better outcomes to treatment.

About Breast Cancer
Breast Cancer is a disease that commonly affects women in the middle age. It is estimated, 1 in 8 women will suffer this disease in their lifetime. Disease commonly presents with a painless lump and hence can be easily missed.
